History

The Health Services Foundation of the South Shore is the fundraising body for two hospitals in District 1 on the South Shore of Nova Scotia. These hospitals are South Shore Regional Hospital and Fishermen's Memorial Hospital. These hospitals serve a catchment of approximately 60,000 in a mostly rural and town area.

In past years each hospital had a voluntary form of fundraising organization but in 1993 both organizations merged to create the Health Services Foundation of the South Shore.
