Annual Gift From The Heart Radiothon a “Bright” Success
Brighter Days are certainly on the horizon for the Health Services Foundation of the South Shore’s capital campaign.
The charity’s 13th annual Gift From The Heart Radiothon, in conjunction with broadcasting partners CKBW and Country 100.7, raised $131,436 in support of the redevelopment of South Shore Regional Hospital.
Executive Director Arleen Stevens says while she is usually astonished by the generosity given to Radiothon each year, this year stands out as a pleasant surprise.
“This is the first Gift From The Heart Radiothon we’ve had where we have supported a large campaign instead of giving the community a challenge to fun a specific piece or pieces of equipment. And with many South Shore businesses and our amazing donors already stepping up and giving to the Brighter Days capital campaign, we didn’t know what to expect. Today was a really special day for philanthropy on the South Shore.”
The funds raised through this year’s initiative will continue to push the Foundation to its $9.5 million goal for the $115.7 million redevelopment of South Shore Regional, announced in 2020.
The campaign has currently reached over 90% of its goal and more gift announcements for the Brighter Days capital campaign are anticipated in the weeks to come.
